Some basic facts about ChristianityChristianityis the world’s biggest religion. Though we use the word “religion” here but negatively speaking, the true Christianity is not a mere religion of outward religious rituals and duties. Mere performance of rituals and religious duties cannot save sinners. In fact, in true Christianity people know God and have a living relationship and fellowship with Him through the mediatory work of Christ, (1-Timothy 2:5)
Jesus Christ was born about 2000 years ago in Bethlehem. He lived a perfect life of obedience for 33 years and then by the will of the heavenly Father was crucified at the Cross of Calvary just outside of Jerusalem. Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
The main purpose of Christ’s first coming into this world was to be a sacrifice for our Sin. It is really through the means of his precious Death on the Cross that sinners can know the true forgiveness of their Sin before God by repenting from their sins and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. The Foundation of true Christianity is Jesus Christ & Him Crucified and not any apostle or Peter. Christians strive to be like their Lord Jesus.

The Christian place of worship is called a Church. But the Church does not simply mean a building of bricks and stones. It means more than this and that is the people of God, who are called out from this world to be holy, serve and worship the Lord. The Urdu (Pakistan’s national language) has two different words for the English word church. When it means the people of God, the word “kaleesia” is used but when it means the place of worship the word used is “Girjaaghar” The Christian leaders are called Church Pastors/Ministers and Evangelists. You can read more about this in Ephesians chapter 4. Today in the true Biblical sense of the word we do not have “apostles” though there are some today who like to be called apostles. Jesus teaches us that we are not to call any man “father” in the religious sense. What is a Christian worship like? Christian worship involves praising God, readings from the Holy Scriptures, prayers, a sermon and administration of two holy ordinances for the Christian believers, which are the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. The main part in a public church worship is the preaching and the teaching of the Word of God.
The Bible is the Christians’ holy book. It is divided into the Old and New Testaments. The Bible based on 66 books is the inspired Word of God. Since it is the inspired Word of God, there are no errors or mistakes in the Bible. The fact of the matter is that it is the Word of God and God does not make mistakes.
And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
